All Winter Maintenance Zones relaxed Feb. 4 – 8

All Winter Maintenance Zones are relaxed for the week of February 4 – 8 as road crews focus on maintaining Primary, Secondary and Tertiary routes.

This means that on-street parking restrictions will be relaxed for all Winter Maintenance Zones and Subzones, but please watch for any other posted signage as other parking restrictions may apply. Further updates will be provided as we approach the week of Feb. 11 - 15.

With the recent snowfall and extreme cold temperatures, crews will be focusing on maintaining Fort McMurray’s most heavily trafficked roads: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary routes to enhance road safety and ensure access for residents, Transit, school zones and emergency vehicles.

Roads are extremely slippery with the cold temperatures. Please drive with caution and give yourself extra time when travelling.

Keep a safe distance from heavy equipment and exercise caution where maintenance is happening. For everyone’s safety, please do not approach equipment on the roadway. For any questions or concerns, please contact Pulse at 780-743-7000, or submit a request for more information at rmwb.ca/pulse.

Back alley snow removal has begun in Eagle Ridge and Wood Buffalo and will continue every day, including weekends, until snow has been removed from all back alleys in the region. Please make the winter season a little easier for crews, by removing any possessions that may block or impede access to back alleys.

Stay tuned for regular updates. Watch for posted electronic signage at the entrance to Fort McMurray communities, or follow the municipal website or social media.
