Annual Emergency Services Pancake Breakfast taking place September 7

(Fort McMurray, AB – August 29, 2019) – Join Regional Emergency Services (RES) and other local emergency services providers for a free pancake breakfast and fire hall open house on Saturday, September 7.

From 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Fire Hall 1 (2 Tolen Drive) enjoy fun for the whole family with representatives and activities from the Fort McMurray Fire Department (FMFD), RMWB Bylaw Services, the RCMP, Phoenix Heli-Flight/Local HERO Foundation, RES Dispatchers, RES Fire Prevention Branch, FireSmart, Fort McMurray Search and Rescue Society, the Salvation Army, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, RES Emergency Management, FMFD Firefit Team and more.

“The Annual Emergency Services Pancake Breakfast is a free event organized by Regional Emergency Services as a thank you to the community for their continued support in making Wood Buffalo a safe and resilient place to live,” says Jody Butz, Regional Fire Chief. “Stop by Fire Hall 1 for a firsthand look at what local emergency service providers do day-to-day, as we celebrate working together for a safer region.”

Activities at the event include vehicle extrication demonstrations, truck repelling demonstrations, tours of emergency services vehicles and fire trucks, and fire safety trailer tours. Kids will also enjoy face painters, Zumba with emergency services mascots, a kid-sized firefighter obstacle course, a teddy bear clinic and more.
