Communities in Bloom host 3rd annual community planting day and seed buffet

(Fort McMurray, AB – May 27, 2019) – Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom is inviting everyone to help plant the Communities in Bloom Garden at Snye Park on June 1. The event takes place from 10 a.m. till noon.

“This event is a great way to get out and meet people who are interested in gardening,” said Communities in Bloom chair Joanne Fisher. “Come on out to a fun-filled afternoon at Snye Park and help plant this Communities in Bloom garden for all to enjoy. Remember to bring gloves, a small shovel, and plenty of sunscreen and water.”

At the seed buffet, residents will have the opportunity to take home sample seeds to enhance their garden. Residents are encouraged to bring an egg carton to transport the seeds home in.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with a focus on enhancing green spaces in communities. This year marks the 25th anniversary for the organization.
In 2020, the Municipality in association with the Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom committee will be hosting the National and International Communities in Bloom Symposium and Awards ceremony.
