Council names Jamie Doyle permanent Chief Administrative Officer

(Fort McMurray, AB – March 31, 2020) – Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Council has appointed Jamie Doyle as their permanent Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Mr. Doyle has served as interim CAO since Wednesday, March 18, 2020. 

“As a long-term and dedicated RMWB employee and resident of Wood Buffalo, Jamie has a deep understanding of our region, and the unique challenges and opportunities we face,” said Mayor Don Scott. “Jamie has done an outstanding job as interim CAO during these unprecedented times. and I have full confidence in his ability as a leader. As the former Deputy CAO, Jamie is also well versed on the priorities of this Council and I know his passion and commitment to building a strong Wood Buffalo.”

“I want to thank Council for their support and confidence in me as Chief Administrative Officer,” said Mr. Doyle. “We’ve got a hard-working and talented team and want to thank them for their ongoing support. I am confident in the staff and resources we have to respond to the challenges of today, and I look forward to continuing the important work of our Council.”

With over 15-years experience in the engineering/planning/development industry, Mr. Doyle has worked in the private and public sector and served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He began his career with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s Planning and Development department (P&D) in 2006. While with P&D, Mr. Doyle served in a variety of leadership roles and was appointed as Director of the department in 2016. In 2018 he was named Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, a role he held until being named interim CAO on March 18, 2020. Jamie resides in Fort McMurray with his wife and young son.
