Curbside bottled water service to be discontinued on Friday May 15

(Fort McMurray, AB – May 14, 2020) – Curbside support provided by the Municipality for residents who could not boil water due to disconnected utilities at their residence will end at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 15. The staging area (now located in the municipal parking lot at the corner of Macdonald Avenue and Morrison Street) will no longer be in operation after this date.

If residents have further need for bottled water, the Wood Buffalo Food Bank is currently operating on an emergency-based system serving weekly hampers at two temporary locations. Everyone living or staying north of the bridge is asked to go to the Thickwood location. Everyone south of the bridge is asked to go to the Gregoire location. More information can be found here: woodbuffalofoodbank.com/assistance

The boil water advisory is still in effect. Tap water needs to be brought to a rapid rolling boil for one minute to be safely consumed.
