Flags at Half-mast in honour of Frances Jean

(Fort McMurray, AB – Nov. 26, 2018) – In memory of long-time resident Frances Jean, who has passed away, flags at all municipal buildings are being flown at half-mast until sunset on the day of the memorial service.

“I am incredibly saddened by the passing of Mrs. Jean – she means so much to this region,” said Mayor Don Scott. “She was a fierce ambassador and advocate for our entire community, an incredible contributor to what makes this a great place to call home, and of course was a very successful local business owner and amazing matriarch. Mrs. Jean’s life represents an enduring example of the tremendous impact one person can make in a community and on those around us.”

“On behalf of the entire Municipality, I extend my sincere condolences to her family and friends as we mourn her loss, honour her memory and recognize all she achieved during her remarkable life. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.”
