Have your say on Memorial Park project

(Fort McMurray, AB – May 9, 2019) – The Municipality is welcoming residents to help shape the Memorial Park project being planned for the Beacon Hill neighbourhood in Fort McMurray.

The park will be in memory of Emily Ryan, who passed away tragically on May 4, 2016 following community-wide evacuation from the Horse River Wildfire. The project is supported by the Ryan family and is aligned with the Municipality’s Parks Master Plan.

Residents living in Beacon Hill and all residents of the community are invited to provide ideas, feedback and comments on this Memorial Park at rmwb.ca/memorialpark or by attending one of the following public engagement sessions:

Wednesday, May 15, 5-8 p.m. (MacDonald Island Park, Suncor Community Leisure Centre – main concourse)

Thursday, May 16, 5-8 p.m. (Good Shepherd Community School, 211 Beacon Hill Drive)

This is the first phase of public engagement for this Memorial Park. The Municipality is planning to return to the community for additional public engagement opportunities on this project in the months ahead. Learn more about the Memorial Park project at rmwb.ca/memorialpark.
