Landfill fees waived and modifications to curbside collection

(Fort McMurray, AB – May 1, 2020) – Landfill fees have been waived and a three bin curbside waste collection program in place, as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo prepares for flood clean-up. 

Landfill Fees
The waived fees include residential and commercial waste and is effective immediately until further notice. It is not required to show identification at the landfill when making a drop-off.

Three Bin Curbside Waste Collection
Residential homeowners with curbside collection will have the opportunity to use three bins in the days ahead to dispose of waste. 

Food and household waste is to be bagged and placed into the two blue and/or black curbside bins. Please place the bins curbside when full and ensure the cover is closed. 

Bins will be collected twice a day on:
Saturday, May 2, beginning at 8 a.m.
Sunday, May 3
Monday, May 4

After Monday, please refer to your regular curbside collection schedule.  

Alternatively, residents may take their waste to the landfill.  

If a resident returns to their home to find their curbside bin missing please contact the Pulse line, at 780-743-7000 or pulse@rmwb.ca, to have your bin replaced.
