Municipality accepting volunteer applications for Boards and Committees

(Fort McMurray, AB – September 20, 2019) – The Municipality is accepting applications for volunteers to serve on one of its Council-appointed Boards and Committees.

Boards and Committees help advise Council on matters that affect the public, giving residents a chance to provide input to decision-makers in local government.

Interested residents can apply to the board or committee of their choice easily by visiting rmwb.ca/boards.

Positions are available on the following Boards and Committees:

• Advisory Committee on Aging
• Assessment Review Board
• Combative Sports Commission
• Community Identification Committee
• Communities in Bloom Committee
• Fort McMurray Airport Authority
• Public Art Committee
• Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equality
• Regional Recreation Corporation
• Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
• Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee
• Wood Buffalo Regional Library Board
• Wood Buffalo Housing and Development Corporation

The application deadline for the boards and committees listed above is October 11.

Two new Council-appointed committees are also open for applications, with an application deadline of September 27:

• Wood Buffalo Downtown Revitalization Advisory Committee
• Wood Buffalo Waterfront Advisory Committee
