New skating trail at Lion’s Park now open

(Fort McMurray, AB – December 13, 2019) – The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s Parks team have been hard at work bringing more awesome outdoor activities to our community. A new skating trail located downtown at Lion’s Park is now open just in time for the holidays! 

Everyone is encouraged to grab their skates and enjoy this new activity with family, friends and neighbours. The skating trail is free, suitable for all ages and will put skaters in the festive spirit with the holiday lights overhead. To learn more visit, rmwb.ca/outdoors.

The skating trail is open seven days a week until 11 p.m., weather permitting. Users are reminded to be respectful of other skaters and skill levels, while skating with caution. Hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted on the trail. For those interested in playing hockey, check out one of the open outdoor boarded rinks in town.
