RMWB Council-appointed Committee volunteer opportunities available

(Fort McMurray, AB – January 22, 2020) – The Municipality is accepting applications for volunteers to serve on Council-appointed Committees. Committees help advise Council on matters that affect the public, giving residents a chance to provide input to decision-makers in local government.

There are currently opportunities available in the following sectors:

  • Wood Buffalo Waterfront Advisory Committee - Business Community
  • Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee - Affordable Housing
  • Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee – Education
  • Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee – Community Development

The Wood Buffalo Waterfront Advisory Committee makes recommendations to Council on matters pertaining to waterfront revitalization. The committee includes a range of stakeholders and non-voting Council representatives and builds on the recommendations of the successful Waterfront Steering Committee and information gathered during the current downtown revitalization process.

The Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee advises municipal administration and Council on local development initiatives, including development and construction issues, community-based issues, public engagement activities and region-wide economic priorities.

The deadline for applications is January 29.
