Thank you to participants in 2018 Stuff-A-Bus for Santas Anonymous

(Fort McMurray, AB – December 17, 2018) – Beginning on November 20, local businesses, organizations and schools participated in the second annual Stuff-A-Bus event by collecting donations of toys and gift cards for the local Santas Anonymous initiative.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who participated in the third year of Stuff-A-Bus for Wood Buffalo,” said Todd Hansen, Supervisor of Transit Operations. “We are so pleased to have the opportunity to help Santas Anonymous provide for families and children in the region. Thanks to the generosity of local participating businesses, organizations and schools, we were able to collect approximately $12,000 in toy and cash donations.”

Santas Anonymous is a student-led initiative at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School and has been in operation since 1984. This year the Transit team at the RMWB partnered with Santas Anonymous to help ensure families in need in our region have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season.

On Friday, Dec. 14, Municipal Transit buses visited participating local businesses, organizations and schools to collect their donations. Special guests on the bus included students from the Santas Anonymous initiative, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus, who took time out of their very busy schedules to thank all participating businesses, organizations and schools for their kind donations.

This year, 26 local businesses participated in the Stuff-A-Bus campaign, with a total of 39 pick-up locations, which is an increase of 10 more locations than last year’s campaign.
