Toys for Tickets wraps up after raising $1680 for the Salvation Army

(Fort McMurray, AB – December 21, 2018) – The Municipality’s Toys for Tickets program concluded on Dec. 20, receiving approximately $1680 in toys for families in need in our region this holiday season.

During the Toys for Tickets program period of Dec. 1 to 15, 239 parking infractions were issued. The program allowed motorists who were issued tickets the opportunity to pay for the violation with toys of the same ticket value. In addition, one gentleman decided to pay it forward by donating over $400 for the campaign.

Thank you to the 14 individuals who participated in the initiative this year.

All toys are donated to the Fort McMurray Salvation Army, who will distribute them to local families in need through their Adopt-A-Family program.
