Urban Market transitions operators – offering indoor, year-round markets, while supporting small businesses

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is pleased to announce the transition of the Urban Market to Liam. Liam is a long-time local business in the community and will continue to deliver a high-quality Urban Market, at the old AMP location on Franklin Avenue.

The Municipality has operated Urban Market for seven successful summer seasons. After each Urban Market season, market-goers have been invited to provide feedback. Two recurring feedback themes have been that residents want to see the market continue year-round and with an indoor option. The transition of the market will allow for those two pieces of feedback to become a reality. It also ensures this beloved community initiative continues, while supporting small start up businesses and downtown revitalization efforts.

The Urban Market will take place-biweekly – launching its first official Christmas Market, sponsored by Vargo Investments, on Dec 14-15 at 8324 Franklin Avenue.
