Winter Maintenance Zones Relaxed until further notice beginning March 19

Beginning on Tuesday, March 19, all Winter Maintenance Zones will be relaxed until further notice.

This means that on-street parking restrictions have also been relaxed. Motorists are advised to watch for any other signage as there may be other parking restrictions in the area.

With the warmer weather, snow and ice is melting quickly in many areas. Even though WMZs will be relaxed, crews will continue to monitor snow and ice, and will be clearing catch basins as needed to facilitate drainage.

Further updates will be provided as we approach the end of the WMZ calendar season on April 15.

As temperatures warm up, roads can be slippery in some areas. Please drive with caution and give yourself extra time and space when travelling.

Keep a safe distance from heavy equipment and exercise caution where maintenance is happening. For everyone’s safety, please do not approach equipment on the roadway. For any questions or concerns, please contact Pulse at 780-743-7000, or submit a request for more information at rmwb.ca/pulse.

Stay tuned for regular updates. Watch for posted electronic signage at the entrance to Fort McMurray communities, or follow the municipal website or social media. Find up-to-date information about on-street parking restrictions, zone and subzone maps, FAQs and more at rmwb.ca/snowplow
