Opening Ceremonies and Council’s Luncheon for Seniors and Elders’ Week
Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Council and the Senior Resource Committee cordially invite residents 65 years and older and Elders to a Seniors and Elders’ Week Luncheon.
Registration is required
Join us on June 5 at the Quality Hotel at 11 a.m. for good food, great company, and fun-filled activities as we celebrate and recognize the contributions seniors and Elders make to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo!
Transportation is available from Anzac, Conklin, Fort McKay, Gregoire Lake Estates and Janvier. When registering to attend, please indicate that you require transportation on the form.
Note: this event is open to Elders, and residents 65 years of age or older residing in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Seniors and Elders' Week: June 5 to 11, 2023
Join us in celebrating Seniors and Elders’ Week from June 5 - 11. Presented by Wood Buffalo Senior Resource Committee, the 2023 Seniors Week includes safe, fun and interactive events for all seniors.
You do not need to be a member of a senior's organization or group to attend any event during Seniors Week. Check out the schedule of events below to register for events and start planning your week!

Snow Angels
Do you need help shoveling snow? Snow Angels is a program where volunteers shovel the driveways and walkways of seniors.
This volunteer service is available for seniors 65 years and older. The program's goal is to serve all seniors who apply. However, priority is given to seniors with less social support and resources.
SMART Bus
Our Special Mobility Assistance Required Transportation (SMART Bus) service is available by appointment to:
- seniors (65 years or older)
- those with mobility issues that prevent or severely restrict their use of conventional bus service
