
Alberta Culture Days in Wood Buffalo includes a series of free events for the entire month of September with plenty of opportunities to participate in Alberta’s largest celebration of arts, heritage, diversity and community spirit.

The students will be performing scenes from several Shakespearean plays including "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Hamlet", "Much Ado about Nothing", "As You Like It" and the ever-bewitching, "Macbeth". The line-up features talented individuals, aged 4 to 28 of age, who excelled as part of the 2021 Oilsands Rotary Music Festival and will be showcased for an evening of musical entertainment. |
September 27 - 30 | World Eats in Wood Buffalo | Facebook and Youtube | In acknowledgement of Alberta Culture Days, the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo (MCA) will be showcasing locally filmed videos featuring various cultural cuisines from around the world. Each day will feature a video highlighting cuisine from different traditions, including Métis, India, Ukraine, Pakistan, and Morocco. In addition to World Eats in Wood Buffalo, MCA will also be hosting a Multicultural Culinary Trivia giveaway to complement the cookery showcase. Each day, from September 27 to 30, two trivia questions related to cultural cuisine will be posted. Participants who correctly guess the answer to the trivia questions will get the chance to win a copy of “McMurray Métis – Kokum’s Cookbook: Volume 1”. Two winners will be drawn each day, with a total of eight chances to win. This giveaway will take place on the MCA Facebook page, with winners announced at the end of the week. |
