
The Mayors of Red Deer, Lethbridge, Calgary and Wood Buffalo joined together this morning, to urge Alberta Health Services, the Minister of Health and the Premier to stop the reckless decision to consolidate the dispatching of Emergency Medical Services. With just hours left before the transition process is set to begin in some cities, concerns continue to mount, and many questions related to life-safety remain unanswered by Alberta Health Services and the Provincial Government.
There is still time to stop this irresponsible transition plan – and if the government is not willing to stop the transition, the Mayors urged the Premier to press pause, at a minimum, so that critical questions can be answered before the transition is forced through.
