Splash into some refreshment this long weekend as spray parks begin opening.
Starting May 18, spray parks will begin to open and be available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Closed:
Wood Buffalo Spray Park - under repair until further notice
Kiyām Spray Park - expected to open in late May - early June
KP Wong Spray Park (Syncrude Athletic Park) - under construction
Grayling Terrace Spray Park - expected to open in mid-June
Frank Lacroix Spray Park - expected to open in mid-late June
Crews are currently making repairs and ensuring equipment is safe in the closed spray parks. While enjoying the spray parks, please be courteous of others and follow all posted rules and etiquette.

Parks and trails etiquette
The outdoor recreation spaces in the region are a highlight of every summer! Please use Municipal amenities responsibly and follow the rules in place so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
- All pets must be on a leash, except in off-leash dog parks.
- Pick up after your pet.
- Don’t litter!
- Motorized vehicles are not allowed to be used in parks or on trails in the Urban Service Area. There is an Off-Highway Vehicle Restriction in effect for all of Alberta.
- Campfires are not allowed in parks or trails and cause a serious safety concern. There is a fireban in effect and fires are not allowed, even in approved pits and backyard pits.

Maintaining parks, fields, trails and green spaces
Municipal crews are hard at work getting parks and outdoor recreation spaces ready and maintained throughout the summer. There are over 50 parks, 55 sports fields and diamonds, 135 km of trails and 800 hectares of green space in the region. There is a lot happening every day, including mowing, pruning, planting, controlling weeds and pests, rejuvenating fields, servicing equipment and trail maintenance.
Improvements being made to outdoor recreation spaces
The Municipality is completing several outdoor recreation projects this summer, including playground improvements, trail repairs and park enhancements.
