Introduction:
Vegetation management operations will be conducted in areas of the Birchwood Trails totalling approximately four hectares. This work is solely funded by the municipality and is intended to reduce wildfire behaviour.

Project Details/Background
Work will be conducted to reduce the wildfire risk through vegetation management. The vegetation includes a mixture of spruce/pine, mixed wood and deciduous trees. All dead, downed, and unhealthy evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs will be removed.
All work will be completed with hand crews, skid steer loaders, and OHV’s.

Improved community resilience to wildfire. Firewood available throughout the project.

- Trails will remain open during work.
