The Municipality’s construction season is well underway with 33 new projects in the works and 46 multi-year projects continuing to progress. Being in Northern Alberta, the construction window is usually less than six months, so a lot of work has to happen in a short period of time.
Maintaining current infrastructure is the priority
Much of this year’s focus is on ensuring existing assets are in good shape including numerous playgrounds, parks and buildings. Improvements are also planned for many underground services, roads and trails across the region.
"While investing in new projects is important, it’s also critical we maintain and improve existing roads, parks and infrastructure,” says Mason Ross, Manager, Capital Projects. “We know construction can be disruptive, but it also helps maintain the services residents rely on and build stronger communities.”
