
More grants available and enhancements made to the program to make it easier for businesses to make improvements
Applications are now open for the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program. The program provides municipal grant funding to help local businesses, organizations and commercial property owners in the downtown area, improve their building and property.
Council approved a total of $2.4M in available funding which is available for application until May 2026, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Changes to the program
Key changes have been made to the program to make it easier for businesses to take advantage of the grant funding available. Businesses now have up to 18 months to complete projects, instead of the previous 12 months. The grant streams available include:
- Façade improvements
- Interior improvements
- Premises improvements
- Murals
- And, projects that include accessibility and safety may be eligible for additional funding.
How to apply
The program will continue to May 2026 or until funding runs out. Downtown businesses, organizations and commercial property owners are strongly encouraged to arrange a pre-application meeting with municipal staff so they can answer questions and help with the application process.
