FireSmart Vegetation Management - Conklin

Introduction

FireSmart treatments will be conducted in the hamlet of Conklin to manage vegetation within an area of approximately 16.20 hectares. Work will begin in Spring 2025 to thin and prune trees and clean out debris in high-hazard forested areas.

All work will be complete with hand crews, small low ground pressure equipment and all terrain vehicles. Firewood may be available to the public as the project progresses. Please follow all signage, keep a safe distance from workers and equipment and do not enter closed areas.

Community impact

Smoke may be visible during burning operations. Some trail areas may be closed to residents. Please follow all signage, keep a safe distance from workers and equipment and do not enter closed areas.

FireSmart uses preventative measures to reduce the wildfire threat to homes and communities while balancing the benefits of wildfire on the landscape. Firewood may be available to the public as the project progresses.
