The Fort Chipewyan Winter Road will not be opening on Dec. 15, due to warm weather in November and damage done by drivers to snow ramps before they can freeze.
Residents driving on the closed Fort Chipewyan Winter Road are causing damage, delays and major safety concerns for both construction crews and drivers.
Safely opening the winter road before Dec. 25 remains a priority.
Progress updates will continue to be shared in the coming days through email alerts, news releases, and RMWB social media accounts.
The La Loche Winter Trail remains closed while crews work to build the trail to safely carry traffic.
