Residents are invited to attend the grand opening this Thursday for the new Community Policing Office in downtown Fort McMurray.
Hosted by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in partnership with the Wood Buffalo RCMP, the event will take place at the new Community Policing Office, located at 9909 Franklin Avenue, first floor, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“This new facility is a symbol of our commitment to serve the residents of Wood Buffalo for many years to come,” said RCMP Officer-in-Charge, Superintendent Mark Hancock. “A new Community Policing Office in the downtown will provide residents with a convenient option to access our support and services, while also enhancing our visibility and contributing to public safety.”
Services now available to residents through the Community Policing office include criminal records checks, filing collision and police reports, registration with Bike Index and drop off for found property. Fingerprinting and vulnerable sector checks will continue to be accessed at the Wood Buffalo Detachment in Timberlea.
Residents will also be able to meet with RCMP officers and tour the new facility.
