Enjoy free outdoor activities this holiday season
Parks staff have been busy making sure outdoor winter recreation areas are ready to be enjoyed throughout the winter.
The tree in Kiyām Community Park can be visited during the day, or at night, illuminated by the multi-coloured lights of the park. Other holiday displays can be found at Borealis Park, Poplar Crescent, or Lions Park.
Multiple outdoor rinks are already open, as residents can enjoy the extensive trail system or the year-round Fox Hill Disc Golf Park in Stone Creek. Staff are working diligently on the Lions Park Skating Trail and the Borealis Skating Pond and hope to have it opened soon.
Please check rmwb.ca/parks for more information on outdoor recreation activities, and use the Parks & Facilities Map for status updates on Parks amenities.
Be drainwise
Residents are reminded to contain it, don’t drain it this holiday season. Fat, oil and grease can lead to a costly plumbing issue but is easily avoided with some simple tips for safe disposal. Visit rmwb.ca/drainwise for more information on how you can manage fat, oil and grease and protect your home or business.
