
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is pleased to announce that Jody Butz has been appointed as Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective immediately. Butz steps into the role following the departure of Henry Hunter.
Butz brings extensive municipal experience to the position, having served as Fire Chief since 2017, Director of Emergency Management, and as a member of Regional Emergency Services for the last 24 years. His dedication to public service and deep understanding of the region positions him well to lead the organization during this transition.
Mayor Bowman expressed confidence in Butz's leadership and acknowledged the contributions of municipal staff:

Under his leadership, I am confident we will maintain a focus on organizational stability and continue delivering the level of service that residents expect and deserve. Butz affirmed his commitment to supporting staff and ensuring the delivery of sustainable municipal services:
