
Transit users encouraged to utilize temporary stops on MacDonald Avenue and Main Street
(Fort McMurray, AB – May 28, 2021) – Planned construction on Main Street between Franklin Avenue and MacDonald Avenue from May 29-30, 2021 will result in a temporary detour of 10 routes operated by RMWB Transit Services.
The following routes will be impacted:
- Route 7 – Abasand Heights
- Route 8 – Beacon Hill Drive
- Route 10 – Gregoire and Prairie Creek
- Route 11 – Fort McMurray Airport
- Route 15 – Timberlea
- Route 16 - Thickwood
- Route 18 – TaigaNova Crescent
- Route 91 – Longboat Landing
- Route 92 – Syncrude Sport and Wellness
- Route 99 – MacDonald Island
Temporary stops to be set up
Three temporary stops will be set up to accommodate the construction:
- MacDonald Avenue at Morrison Street NB – Routes 18, 91, and 99
- MacDonald Avenue at Main Street SB – Routes 7, 8, 10, 11, and 92
- Main Street at MacDonald Avenue EB – Routes 15 and 16
These temporary stops will accommodate the temporary closure of two stops:
- 10033 - Morrison Street at MacDonald Avenue
- 10034 - Main Street and Franklin Avenue EB – Main Terminal
Face coverings required
For public transit, face coverings continue to be mandatory under the Face Covering Bylaw (No. 20/024).
