The Municipality officially launched its 2025 municipal census campaign today, designating the occasion as Municipal Census Day. The goal of the census is to get an accurate population count to ensure the RMWB receives the appropriate amount of funding for infrastructure improvements. On average, each individual counted in the census generates over $200 in government funding for the region.
“Census data also serves as a foundation for developing key indicators and growth projections, enabling better planning of programs and services for residents while also enhancing the region’s appeal to potential investors,” says Mayor Sandy Bowman.
Participating in census is easy; there are several ways to be counted!
Online
Residents have multiple ways to complete the 2025 municipal census, with the online option being the quickest and most convenient. This month, residents will receive a personal identification number (PIN) letter by regular mail, which contains a unique household-specific PIN located in the top-right corner.
To complete the census, visit rmwb.ca/census, where you’ll find a direct link to the census portal. The questionnaire takes about five minutes to complete. For added convenience, you can scan the QR code next to your PIN to complete the census on your mobile device.
Enumerators will be in your neighbourhood soon
Enumerators will also offer instant enumeration when delivering PIN letters. They will be wearing RMWB branded t-shirts, hats and bags along with badges to identify them as census workers. If you haven’t completed your census online, enumerators will begin canvassing rural communities around April 1, with the urban service area enumerators beginning around April 20.
Call Pulse to complete the census by phone
Residents can also complete their census by phone by contacting Pulse at 780-743-7000 or toll-free at 1-800-973-9663. Pulse will connect you with the census team, who are available to assist with any questions, help retrieve your PIN and even complete the enumeration process over the phone.
