Youth from 12-18 years old are encouraged to apply by August 22
The Mayor’s Advisory Council on Youth (MACOY) is looking for students to share their youth perspective, while working closely with Mayor and Councillors on projects and issues related to municipal government. These youth will have an opportunity to be mentored by community leaders, participate in meaningful volunteer work and represent youth in the region.
“It’s very important to me that young people have the opportunity to be actively involved in the community and with the Municipality,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman. “I encourage youth across the region to apply and I look forward to working alongside the next MACOY group in the fall.”
MACOY consists of up to 28 youth, ages 12-18, that meet once per month. MACOY members also volunteer and are involved in many community events throughout the year.
Membership is open to all youth living in the Municipality. There are two spots on the committee reserved for each high school to ensure youth throughout the entire region are represented.
Apply online!
The application process is quick and can be completed online. The deadline to apply is August 22.
