(Fort McMurray, AB – March 31, 2022) – The Municipality is looking for knowledgeable community members to join a new advisory committee that will review the Municipality’s Community Investment Program.
The RMWB is seeking nine community voting members for the committee, including an Indigenous representative, an oil sands industry representative, a business representative, an external funding representative, two representatives of the public-at-large and three Social Profit Organization representatives. The new committee will also have three non-voting members—two Council members and the Chief Administrative Officer (or designate).
The Committee will review and recommend changes to the Community Investment Program to increase efficiencies, address duplicate services, clarify eligibility criteria, and establish grant deliverables. Its mandate will include advising on the Committee’s future role involving grant application reviews, alignment with Council policies, the Municipal Development Plan and other Council strategic priorities.
Additionally, community members are being sought for positions on the Communities In Bloom Committee, Public Art Committee and Wood Buffalo Downtown Revitalization Advisory Committee.
