Council decided to hold a byelection in Ward 4 at its Sept. 10 meeting, with election day scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4, 2024.
The Ward 4 byelection is being called to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Councillor Jane Stroud.
The elected candidate will represent the communities of Anzac, Conklin, Gregoire Lake Estates and Janvier as Ward 4 Councillor until the Municipal election in October 2025.

Call for candidate nominations
Nominations are now being accepted from candidates in the upcoming Ward 4 byelection. Prospective candidates must file their nominations and paperwork by noon on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024.
The Election Office is preparing nomination forms, required documentation and additional information for interested candidates, which will soon be available at rmwb.ca/elections.

General election for RMWB Council set for Oct. 20, 2025
The general election for the RMWB and all municipalities in Alberta is set for Oct. 20, 2025. The elected candidate of the Ward 4 byelection will serve until then and would have to win re-election to continue serving as Ward 4 Councillor.
