Council’s Strategic Plan for 2022-2025 approved
Council has approved its strategic plan for the next four years.
Council’s Strategic Plan for 2022-2025 was written collaboratively by Council and reflects its leadership, priorities and language.
To guide the plan, Council drew on the ideas of community, collaboration, engagement, confidence and responsibility.
Most importantly, the plan highlights five areas of focus for the region:
- Fiscal management
- Building partnerships
- Rural and Indigenous communities and relationships
- Local economy
- Downtown visualization
These focus areas set the direction for the Municipality with achievable milestones and actions.
“I want to thank my Council colleagues for working together as a team on a strategic plan that is rooted in important priorities for the people that live here,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman. “Our success lies in ensuring we remain committed to supporting community members by always listening and building better partnerships and relationships across the region.”

Next steps
Over summer recess, Administration will work on a tactical plan to address the priorities and actions outlined by Council.
