After months of weekend schedules, transit users can now plan for regular service. Starting Aug. 28, Transit Services resumes regular route schedules with some updates.
Just in time for school
School service will be included in the updates with schools resuming in-person classes later this month. Routes will take effect on Aug. 31 for the first day of school.
All school service routes have been developed in collaboration with the Fort McMurray Public School District and Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education.
Update highlights
- Reduction in service – fewer trips – on routes 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 41, 51, 61, 91 and 99.
- School routes and regular routes will service students at Composite High School, Ecole McTavish, Father Mercredi High School, Holy Trinity High School and Westwood High School.
Plan ahead and review the updated schedules.
Covid-19 precautions
Masks are recommended in situations where physical distancing can’t be maintained.
Riders using buses and bus shelters should use caution and use these amenities responsibly. Anyone using these spaces must follow public health guidelines, including:
- Staying home if you feel sick.
- Washing your hands frequently.
- Refraining from touching your face with unwashed hands.
Fees will continue to be waived and rear door entry will continue on all RMWB transit buses. Increased cleaning and prevention measures remain in place.
