
Four-on-four pond hockey tournament returns to WinterPLAY Feb. 24 and 25
Sharpen your skates and tape up the ol’ stick! WinterPLAY’s Shootout on the Snye returns on Feb. 24 and 25.
Generations of residents have played Canada’s national winter sport on outdoor ice surfaces across the region. Get involved in the tradition and register to participate!
Save $10, register by Jan. 21
All Shootout on the Snye participants are required to register in advance by the following dates:
- Early bird registration: $30/player by Jan. 21
- Final registration: $40/player by Jan. 31
Youth players (under 18 years of age) must register individually. Balanced teams will be created based on player division and skill level.
For players 18+, team and individual registrations are available in the Open Division.
All registered players will receive a Shootout on the Snye jersey.
Puck drops Feb. 24 at 9 a.m.
Shootout on the Snye officially kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. with a ceremonial puck drop and runs until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.
All teams are guaranteed three games during the tournament. Playoffs will take place on Sunday, Feb. 25. Games will be played four vs. four, with a maximum of six players per team.
Shootout on the Snye is a non-contact hockey tournament. Please play responsibly and safely.

Fundraising opportunities for groups and organizations are available throughout WinterPLAY, including Shootout on the Snye referees and general event support.

Mark your calendars - taking place from February 23 to March 3 at the Snye, this edition of WinterPLAY is going to be bigger than ever before! Not only are we bringing back your favourite activities (such as Shootout on the Snye, horse drawn carriage rides, dog sleds, fireworks and more), WinterPLAY 2024 will also bring Barbegazi to our region for the first time!
Barbegazi includes fun, family-friendly and unique winter activities for all to enjoy. Visit WinterPLAY 2024 to watch sled demonstrations and try out human curling, fat bike racing, snow skating and foam ball sling shot.
