Introduction:
Vegetation management operations will be conducted in areas of Thickwood totalling approximately 13.6 hectares. This work is solely funded by the municipality and is intended to reduce wildfire behaviour.

Project Details/Background
Work will be conducted to thin evergreen stands in forested areas off Signal Road and Ermine Crescent. The vegetation includes a mixture of spruce/pine, mixed wood and deciduous trees. All dead and unhealthy evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs will be removed. Downed trees will also be removed. Healthy/undamaged deciduous trees and shrubs will be retained. Remaining evergreen trees will have branches pruned two metres from ground level.
All work will be completed with hand crews, small low ground pressure equipment and ATV’s.
