Waterfront Park is seeking public opinion on design ideas
Fort McMurray development supporting waterfront and downtown revitalization
(Fort McMurray, AB – June 14) – Have your say! The Waterfront Park is a highly anticipated development encouraging water connection and improving access to nature in the core of our community downtown. The design covers 6km of waterfront from the Athabasca Bridge to Horse Pasture Park in Waterways. The space will embrace natural elements, while strengthening new community gatherings in outdoor event spaces, connecting the waterfront through trails and pathways, encouraging play, and honoring the rich Indigenous and non-Indigenous history.
The Waterfront Park is part of the overall Waterfront Park Revitalization Project which is divided into two targeted areas. First, we engaged with residents on the Snye Point Outdoor Event Space this past March. Second, we are now seeking your feedback on design ideas for the remaining Waterfront Park area.
