Streets most in need of maintenance are being prioritized
Winter Maintenance Subzones 1 & 2 are active Feb. 22 to 26. For those in Subzones 1 & 2, this means that you cannot park on your street from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on your one designated weekday for maintenance.
Subzones 3 & 4 are relaxed until further notice. When subzones are relaxed, on-street parking restrictions are not in effect and vehicles may park on the street.
Streets most in need of maintenance are prioritized
Winter maintenance is always prioritized and scheduled based on the condition of roads. This means if your street didn’t receive maintenance last time your subzone was active, it is scheduled to receive maintenance before other streets in the same area where snow has recently been cleared. While crews try their best to stay on schedule, vehicles parked in active WMZs, equipment breakdowns and other unexpected delays can cause challenges with scheduling.
You can keep up with winter maintenance happening in your neighbourhood by checking out the WMZ Progress Map.
Thank you to everyone keeping up with on-street parking restrictions!
Crews rely on community support to operate the WMZ program efficiently. Recently, there has been a decrease in the number of vehicles parked on the street in active subzones, which has helped speed up maintenance.
To everyone keeping up with on-street parking restrictions and working together to improve winter maintenance in their neighbourhood, thank you!
