Subzones 3 and 4 will be active for snow removal operations Feb. 3 - 7, with on-street parking restrictions in effect.
Snow removal takes longer than snow plowing, as a result some streets in an active subzone may not be completed in one activation. These streets are tracked and scheduled for future maintenance.
Subzones 1 and 2 are relaxed. When subzones are relaxed, on-street parking restrictions are not in effect and vehicles may park on the street. Subzones are typically activated on a bi-weekly schedule, with Subzones 1 and 2 expected to be active the week of Feb. 10 - 14.
Watch for no parking signs this weekend
Additional snow removal will take place over the weekend on the following streets:
- Couture Lane
- Cree Place
- Waterhouse Street
- Ewashkow Crescent
- Nelson Lane
- O’Coffee Crescent
- Swanson Crescent
- Crabapple Way
- Chokecherry Place
Expect delays as snow is removed from centre medians
Crews are removing snow from the centre medians and shoulders of Confederation Way over the weekend. Expect traffic delays on these routes and plan for extra travel time while the work is underway.
Snow shoveling reminders
Residents are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property within 48 hours of a snowfall. Please do not shovel snow onto the street or into the middle of a cul-de-sac. This can cause problems with garbage and recycling collection, create large ruts and may block storm drains. Shovel snow to the sides of your driveway instead.
WMZ on-street parking restrictions in effect from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
When your subzone is activated, on-street parking restrictions are in effect from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., on your designated day for maintenance.
Please do not park your vehicle on the street before 6 p.m., even if you believe maintenance has been completed. Crews often focus on plowing or removing snow first, then may come back later in the day to complete driveway windrow removal and other maintenance on your street.
Winter Maintenance Zone reminders
