“Welcome to the Year of the Garden! Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom is encouraging everyone to join the celebration by planting red flowers and plants in their garden this year.” says Helen Meyer, Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom committee member. “As a committee, we have chosen Zinnias, Geraniums and Sweet Williams as voting options for the 2022 Flower of the Year. Each one is beautiful and is suitable for our northern growing climate, so be sure to vote for your favourite! On behalf of Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom, we wish you all a happy and prosperous growing season.”
The flower that receives the most community votes by Jan. 31 will be awarded as the 2022 Wood Buffalo Flower of the Year. Free complimentary Flower of the Year seeds will be made available to the community in the spring for residents to showcase their community spirit and their green thumbs.
