Community Cleanup

The 2020 Spring/Summer Community Cleanup Campaign runs from June 1 – September 1.

Community Clean Up is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while making a positive contribution to the region.  Best of all? Less litter, and a more beautiful community for all to enjoy.

The process is easy: select a location and date, register online, and pick up your supplies. When you’re all done, call Pulse at 780-743-7000, and we will come take the trash away. It’s a simple activity with a big positive impact on our region!

Supplies can be picked up at the Syncrude Clubhouse (101 Cartier Rd., in the Skate Room, at the side of the building facing the ice rink) on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

To arrange for supplies for Community Clean Up in rural locations, please contact Pulse at 780-743-7000 or toll free at 1-800-973-9663.

Adopt-A-Trail / Adopt-A-Roadway Program

Adopt a section of trail or green space along Municipal roadways. Clean up supplies are provided.

*Safety vests and litter-picking sticks are required to be returned after cleanups are complete.

Tips for Conducting a Safe Cleanup

Visit your site and assess it for possible hazards. What can you do to minimize any dangers? Be sure to complete the Hazard Assessment Form included in your cleanup kit.

Wear gloves during your cleanup. Be sure to sanitize hands when the cleanup is completed.

Youth under 18 must wear safety goggles if using graffiti removing wipes.

Do not pick up any dangerous items, including broken glass and discarded needles. If you see any needles, be sure to call Pulse at 780-743-7000 immediately.

Volunteers are discouraged from cleaning along highways.

Be mindful of social distancing.  Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet.

Call 780-743-7000 pulse@rmwb.ca to arrange for the pickup of bags when cleanup is complete.
