What is MACOY?
MACOY stands for Mayor's Advisory Council on Youth. It was founded in 1993 to serve as an advisory body responsible for advising City Council on services, programs and issues as they relate to youth in the region. MACOY provides a voice to Mayor and Councillors on issues concerning youth in the community.

The Mayor’s Advisory Council on Youth (MACOY) will work closely with Mayor and Councillors on projects and issues related to municipal government while representing the youth in the region. Members will have an opportunity to receive mentorship from community leaders, participate in meaningful volunteer work and engage with youth in the region to gain insight into their experiences and concerns.
The committee will have some structural changes for this upcoming year. It will consist of up to 28 youth ages 12-18, that meet once per month. To ensure youth throughout the entire region are represented, there are two spots on the committee reserved for each high school.
