This year’s Home Fire Safety Program will focus on the Bear Ridge, Cartier Heights, Cartier Mobile Home Park, and Timber Heights neighbourhoods. Teams will go door-to-door to offer inspections. If existing smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are found to be outdated or not working, free replacements will be provided.

A Special Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on June 16, 2026, in Jubilee Centre Council Chamber, to consider the Draper Area Structure Plan and other items specific to Draper. 

Public Works crews and other municipal staff will be working along Highway 63 this week between the Saprae Creek Trail (Airport Road) and the Parsons Creek Interchange as part of community cleanup efforts.

The Evacuation Alert has been lifted for Conklin. Alberta Wildfire reports that Wildfire MWF-059 is being held and is not expected to grow beyond its current boundaries.

Wildfire LWF-059 remains approximately 10 km southwest of Conklin. Alberta Wildfire reports that firefighters, a night vision equipped helicopter and machines worked on this wildfire overnight. At the time of this report, the wildfire remained out of control but had not moved closer to the community

An Evacuation Alert has been issued for Conklin due to the potential of the wildfire LWF059 spreading towards the community. If you are in Conklin area stay alert and follow instructions from emergency responders.  At this time an Evacuation Order has not been issued
