Background
The Diversity and Inclusion Community Plan was developed by the community – for the community. It was first developed in 2012, and then redeveloped and updated in 2017.
The process used the following tactics to gather information:
- Diversity Summit: over 100 community stakeholders provided initial input
- Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality (RACIDE): RACIDE developed guiding principles and goals
- Process survey: 156 completed surveys
- Focus groups: 19 focus groups attended by approx. 250 people
- Public survey: 729 survey responses
The information in the plan was collected from the community. The plan will be implemented by the community. Success depends on a wide range of stakeholders working together.
