This program opens for applications for the 2024/25 season on October 15, 2024
The Community Backyard Rink program allows homeowners to build temporary backyard ice rinks, helping residents embrace winter in a safe, organized way.
Important program updates
The application process is now simpler and less costly. Program changes will also allow groups to enhance backyard rinks by
- extending rinks onto the Municipal greenspaces behind homes where possible
- incorporating rink boards and electricity (heat and lights)
How do I get started?
A detailed guide has been created about how to apply for, construct and maintain a Community Backyard Rink. The guide also provides details on responsibilities, timelines and the approval process.
Please carefully review the guide before submitting an application.
