Learn and reflect about our shared history
As you enjoy the day, take time to reflect and learn about Canada’s shared history, while thinking about the future we want to build together and the active role you play.
We acknowledge with gratitude that this land is Treaty 8 territory, the traditional and ancestral land of the Cree, Dene and Métis people. We recognize that our history began long before the first Canada Day on what is known as part of Turtle Island.
