Event Permits

Where are you having your event?

If your event is on private land, you may need to apply for a development permit. You can apply in person at 9909 Franklin Avenue, apply online using the E-Permitting Tool, or submit a development permit

The fee for a development permit is $200.

If your event is on public land, you may need to apply for a special event permit

Special events are:

  • open to the public
  • held on land that was not originally intended for the special event (e.g., parkland or farmland)

Please submit your application at least one month prior to the event. The application fee is $25 for non-profit groups and $100 for profit-making organizations.

When you apply for a permit, we'll ensure that you meet requirements for fire safety, insurance and emergency planning.

You may need to apply for event permits based on the location, size, or nature of your event in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
