The following are the rules (“Rules”) for the 2026 Spring Trade Show giveaway (the “Giveaway”) being administered by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (“RMWB”).
To be eligible for the Giveaway, entrants must be legal residents of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and be eighteen years old or older at the time of entry. Employees and elected officials of RMWB and their immediate family and household members are not eligible to participate in the Giveaway.
2. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, entrants must subscribe to receive updates from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo at rmwb.ca/subscribe. The Giveaway shall run from Friday, April 24, 2026, 1:00 p.m. MST to Sunday, April 26, 2026, 5:00 p.m. MST (the “Giveaway Period”) after which time no further entries will be considered. Only one entry per person will be considered.
3. SELECTION OF WINNER
Upon completion of the Giveaway, a RMWB representative shall review the entries submitted and choose a winner at random. The potential winner will be contacted by email on April 28 at approximately 12:00 p.m. and must respond within four (4) hours by correctly answering the skill-testing question and providing their contact information. The skill-testing question must be answered unaided. If a selected potential winner does not respond in the allotted time or answers the skill testing question incorrectly, another potential winner may be selected at RMWB’s sole discretion.
4. PRIZE
There is one Prize available to be won. The Prize is a Nintendo Switch. The approximate value of the prize is seven hundred and thirty-five dollars (CDN$735). The Prize is not redeemable for cash and must be accepted as offered without substitution. The odds of winning the Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
5. RELEASE
The Winner will be required to execute a Winner release form (“Release”) that confirms Winner’s: (i) eligibility for the Giveaway; (ii) acceptance of the Prize as offered; (iii) release of RMWB, its employees, and elected officials from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in the Giveaway or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize, including but not limited to costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property. The executed Release must be returned within two (2) business days of the date of verification as a Winner or the selected entrant will be disqualified and the Prize forfeited.
6. GENERAL
By participating in the Giveaway, you agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of RMWB which shall be final and binding in all respects. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification.
Notwithstanding the defined Giveaway Period, RMWB reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Giveaway, in whole or part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Giveaway, and/or these Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.
In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email account associated with the entry. “Authorized account holder” of the email account is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an internet service provider, service provider or other organization (i.e. business, school, etc.).
The Giveaway is subject to all applicable laws of the province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
