Project Details/Background:
Construction will involve the removal of existing roadways and sidewalks to allow for the installation of new water, storm, and wastewater infrastructure. Temporary water services will be used to ensure water services to all businesses are uninterrupted in the project area while the new infrastructure is being installed. Once underground utility installation work is complete, revitalization of the surface will take place with new asphalt roadways, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, new street lighting and landscaping.
Community Benefit:
As the various phases of construction are completed, roads will be restored and improved. At the completion of the project, impacted downtown streets will see a substantial improvement. Once complete, underground infrastructure will improve the water supply to the downtown, as well as all areas in the south of the Urban Service Area (i.e. Saprae Creek Estates, Anzac, etc.).
