SDAB 2025-004 Appeal Against the Approval of a Development Permit for a Change of Use - Group Home

TAKE NOTICE, that the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board has received an appeal filed against a Development Officer’s decision to APPROVE Development Permit No. 2025-DP-00162, an application for a Change of Use for a Group Home, at the property known as Lot 20, Block 6, Plan 082 8922, being 213 Gravelstone Way, Fort McMurray, Alberta.

At a preliminary hearing held on August 18, 2025, via Microsoft Teams, the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (“the Board”) opened and adjourned the hearing to take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025

Time: Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Hearing commences at 6:00 p.m.

Location: Council Chamber
Jubilee Centre
9909 Franklin Avenue
Fort McMurray, AB

In accordance with section 629 of the Municipal Government Act, the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board may; while carrying out its powers, duties and responsibilities, accept any oral or written evidence. Affected parties and adjacent property owners wishing to make a presentation to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board or wishing to submit written comments must submit their request to sdab@rmwb.ca on or before 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. It is at the discretion of the Board to accept any submissions filed beyond this date. All evidence can be submitted to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board via email at SDAB@rmwb.ca. It is the responsibility of the parties to ensure that the evidence has been received.

Affected parties/adjacent property owners will be given five (5) minutes of time to present their evidence.
